Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) announced that its consolidated net incomes totaled US$13.9 billion in the first half of this year, falling by 12.6% in comparison of US$15.9 billion in the same period of a year ago. In the second quarter of this year, AHMSA realized sales revenues of US$6.7 billion, decreasing by 17% in comparison of US$8.2 billion in the second quarter of 2012. It’s learned that the decreased revenues in the second quarter were caused by unscheduled shutdown of the blast furnace 5, cessation of mining Micare Siglo XXI due to the flooding and a fire that crippled the mine V of MIMOSA unit.
